Course Overview

The Diploma of Commerce is a one year course which gives you the equivalent of the first year of a Bachelor of Commerce degree. International students who graduate from the Diploma of Commerce will be guaranteed direct entry into the second year of the Bachelor of Commerce at either of two prestigious universities: Curtin University of Technology or The University of Western Australia. Local students, on successful completion of the Diploma of Commerce, will be guaranteed direct entry into the second year of the Bachelor of Commerce at Curtin University of Technology. Local students can apply through TISC for a place in The University of Western Australia but there is no guarantee. Small class sizes and extra tuition time ensure that you will be extremely well prepared for your degree studies.

Course Duration 40 weeks
Time Allocation 4 hrs per unit per week (usually 2 x 2hr sessions per unit), 4 units per semester
Prerequisites

Age prerequisite:
Local students need to be at least 17 years of age as of the 1st January of the current year.
International students need to be at least 16 years of age as of the 1st January of the current year.

International Student English Competency Requirements
  • TEE English, WAUFP ELACS: 50%
  • TEE ESL: 55%
  • GCE 'O' Level English, 1119: C6
  • SPM English: C4
  • HKCEE English: Level 3
  • IELTS Overall Band Score: 6.0
  • TOEFL: 530 or 195 (new grading system)
