Course Overview

The Certificate I in IT course offered at Canning College aims to develop the fundamental skills that are needed by everyone who uses a computer in a personal or professional capacity.

The course is taught using Microsoft Office 2007 and the software applications covered include:

  • Word Processing using Word
  • Internet Browsing using Internet Explorer
  • Email using Outlook Express
  • Presentations using PowerPoint
  • Spreadsheets using Excel
  • Databases using Access

 

Certification Gained Certificate I in Information Technology

Students who successfully complete the course and can demonstrate the associated competences via the ongoing assessments will be awarded a Certificate I in IT. This qualification is endorsed by the Training Accreditation Council and is recognised Australia-wide by both training institutions and industry. The qualification code is ICA10105.

Suitable For

Anybody who needs to develop fundamental computer skills.

Age prerequisite: Students need to be at least 17 years of age as of the 1 January of the current year.
